Our Story
Since its initiation, Great Hope Foundation has been working with young people. Early in 2011/12 the organization, dedicated its energy in creating inter schools sports activities, that brought several schools together for these activities.
They participated in drama, singing, football, basketball and debates. After two years of conducting these activities, Great Hope Foundation observed that, as much as students were actively participating in these activities, they needed much stronger platforms at the grass-root level that shall encourage them to continuously participate in these extra curriculum activities and explore their hidden potential that can’t be easily seen in class.
After two years, GREAT HOPE FOUNDATION, established UWEZO AWARD project to pioneer challenge based learning as a methodology to impart students, with needed skills at the market place and also improve the quality of education.
Our Mission
Great Hope Foundation mission is to develop and implement programs innovatively, that assist young people to acquire appropriate skills that can help them thrive in the labor market through either self or formal employment.

Great Hope Foundation envisions to build an empowered, developed and responsible young generation that contribute significantly to the social, economic and political development of the continent. We believe youth have tremendous power to bring positive change in the community once, appropriate platforms have been developed for them to understand their potential and bring the best out of it.

Noelle Mahuvi
Founder

Noelle Mahuvi is the Country Director and Founder of the organization. She co- founded it and has led the organization since 2016. She is quite passionate about young generation programs, a passion she discovered while volunteering at her local church as a Sunday School teacher. She cofounded the organization, after accumulating an extensive experience of volunteering at a tender age, through Rotary youth wing, known as Rotaract.
