BOAZ HENRY

My name is Boaz Henry, a proud alumnus of Tambaza High School (Class of 2024). I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Music at the University of Dar es Salaam. In 2023, I had the privilege of participating in the UWEZO BONANZA, where I emerged as the first-place winner in the Singing Category. One of the most important lessons I gained from the UWEZO BONANZA was the power of creativity. Before this experience, I used to believe that music was simply about singing. However, through the talent screening sessions, I was advised that art without creativity lacks impact. I took that advice seriously, worked on developing my originality—and it paid off.

However, through the talent screening sessions, I was advised that art without creativity lacks impact. I took that advice seriously, worked on developing my originality—and it paid off.

My journey through UWEZO BONANZA opened countless doors for me. After winning the singing category, I was invited for an exclusive interview with Azam Media Limited (UTV), one of Tanzania’s leading media houses. That exposure led to an invitation to perform at the 2024 Teenagers' Concert in Kitwe, Zambia. Following a performance full of creative expression in Zambia, I was once again invited to perform—this time in Kigali, Rwanda, during the Pan-Africanism Conference attended by students from across the continent.

Currently, I am preparing to represent Tanzania at yet another Pan-Africanism Conference, this time in Zimbabwe, organized under the African Union Students Platform. These are just a few highlights among many achievements I’ve experienced since participating in UWEZO BONANZA. This platform not only nurtured my talent but also helped shape my future—leading me to pursue a degree in Music and commit myself to a life of creativity and artistic impact.
