REBECCA MUNA – UWEZO PROGRAM ALUMNI 2017-2020

During my O-Level journey, I had the privilege of participating in the UWEZO AWARD PROJECTS through the GREAT HOPE FOUNDATION. This experience has been pivotal in my personal growth and leadership development. It has empowered me to stand firm in my values, advocate for my rights, and spread positivity within my community.

As a young leader who initiated the UWEZO AWARD PROJECTS at my school, I gained a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by society and became actively involved in seeking solutions. This journey has taught me to approach every aspect of my life with optimism and determination. In today’s competitive world, carving out your space as a young leader requires meaningful engagement, and the UWEZO AWARD PROJECTS laid the groundwork for honing my leadership skills.

I learned that achieving your dreams isn’t always easy; it demands passion, confidence, and perseverance. After all, today’s winners were once yesterday’s failures. This program has helped me evolve into a better version of myself, instilling a courageous spirit. In 2022, I became an “Award Winning Poet,” and in 2023, I participated in MISS DAR ZONE, winning the title of MISS DAR BEAUTY WITH PURPOSE 2023 (BWAP) for my community change project, the MIMI NI NGUVU YA MSICHANA CAMPAIGN. This initiative advocates for girl child rights and aims to eliminate child marriage in Tanzania.

I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to be part of the impactful UWEZO AWARD PROJECTS.
